Finding Comfort through Creativity at Home
It’s hard to believe we have entered the one year mark for social distancing. While we have been extremely fortunate to be working on some exciting client projects at Home Life, I have been personally embracing the quieter nights and weekends by creating at home.
I’ve been finding joy and inspiration from some new {to me} cookbooks, and taking the time to try new recipes. With the frigid temperatures recently in Boston and Vermont, I took the opportunity one quiet Saturday to make French Onion Soup from scratch for the first time – something I’ve always wanted to try and finally did. I was intrigued by a recipe in a cookbook by the Editors of Cook’s Illustrated titled Soups, Stews & Chilis and followed it to a T. It was an all day affair but the result was beautiful and delicious.
In addition, I’ve been challenging myself to create cocktails at home. I’ve been enjoying Mezcal and found this recipe to be a lovely way to balance the strong smokey flavor. Topping it with an edible flower is a wonderful reminder that Spring is near.
Toasting to you and hoping you are finding ways to “Love How You Live!” during this time.
Mango Mezcal Margarita

Juice of 1 lime
