Once again would like to thank you for all your help in finding the perfect settee for us. While we were overwhelmed with the Design Center itself, and almost walked out, you were able to listen carefully to what we wanted and navigate the maze of stores and bring us to the shop that carried just what we wanted. You respected our price concerns and guided us through the process of customizing the settee, keeping price in mind as we selected fabric and wood stain. This was our first time working with an Interior Designer and we were impressed with your knowledge and desire to find just the right piece to meet our specific space limitations.

Rose Ann Humphrey of Home Life changed my home, changed my life. I have built/remodeled several homes over my lifetime. I was fortunate enough to work with Rose Ann when we bought our house. Rose Ann was incredibly responsive; she replies almost immediately to emails, phone calls, and texts. She is truly an artist and I trusted her taste completely. She got to know my family and created spaces that are not only lovely to look at, but also comfortable to live in. She seemed to instinctually understand the vague vision that I had and transfer it into something concrete and lovely. I learned so much from working with her and I could not be more delighted living in my spaces. Our single family South End townhouse was built in 1867. We were only the third owner of the house when we acquired and restored it 45 years ago. Now my daughter and her family live there, and our old restoration was in desperate need of refreshing. The double parlors presented a particular challenge. All details remained original, including 17 foot ceilings, elaborate ball and dart crown molding, center medallions, and walnut doors and windows encased in walnut frames. Over the years, the parlors had become drab and dated, and the true majesty of the dimensions and detail of the rooms had become lost. But how do we revitalize these grand rooms to make them truly splendid? We all agreed that we needed a highly skilled design expert to help us. Rose Ann Humphrey and her design firm, Home Life, immediately saw the potential, and she helped my daughter and son-in-law bring these rooms back to life with a radiance and grace I never thought possible. Rose Ann chose off whites for the ceilings and walls and a neutral tone for the carpet, and then created a colorful palette of fabrics for the original parlor furniture, all of which had the dramatic effect of maximizing the natural light, highlighting the wood, marble and ceiling detail and emphasizing the beautiful proportions of the original design. A more perfect outcome could not have been imagined. Achieving the goal for my family to “Love How You Live” was a wonderful experience for all of us. Thank you Rose Ann!

It was great to see the slow evolution of the room as it turned into something that I had seen, but wasn’t able to do.

Your talent and ability in conceptualizing the design direction and overall intent of the property’s ownership while working closely with our architect has produced an outstanding and commendable result. It should also be noted that your years of construction experience and knowledge of materials for specific uses, together with your ability to coordinate the various facets of your work with those of other trades and disciplines, has definitely played a great part in your work performance. She was not building her space, but my space. She was reflecting my vision.

She uses this amazing process when painting. She selects three shades of the same color and the darker areas are painted with lighter shades. The outcome is wonderful.

I know that you realize how much I love both my homes, Cape Cod and Naples, Florida, that you both designed and completed. And of course you also did the exteriors of both. Although you are not a landscape architect (by profession) you well know the joy and relaxation the Cape garden (which we refer to as the Zen Garden) brings me and how you have received so many compliments on its beauty. These two experiences have brought me a real change in my values. Your slogan “love how you live” has come to life in me.

I was open to getting educated and seeing my dream evolve and improve. I had ideas, but Rose Ann took them somewhere.

Without Rose Ann’s expertise, I might have had houses but not homes. Even here in Florida, my neighbors marvel at what my home is like — much thanks to Home Life! Rose Ann has not only given me beautiful home and office spaces, living and working in her creations has been delightfully transformative. I am inspired, at home, and my guests and clients tell me every time I see them how much they love visiting. We had incurred water damage throughout several areas of our home in Shelburne, Vermont. Rose Ann spearheaded the project which included a total renovation of our kitchen and dining area. The craftsmen she retained did an excellent job and the project came in on time. Her selection of tiles, faux painting of the cabinets, floor and wall coverings, countertops and appliances all came together to make a stunning and very usable kitchen overlooking Lake Champlain. We have recently retained Rose Ann to renovate our master bathroom.

Rose Ann understood what I wanted. I had a vision for what I wanted and we had similar ideas about how to make it happen…we spoke the same language.
