Nantucket By Design
I am just back from a wonderful week in Nantucket. Home Life was a sponsor for the Nantucket Historical Association’s premier fundraiser, Nantucket by Design this month. During my time on the island, I had the opportunity to attend some engaging discussions with respected artists celebrating interior design.
One that stood out to me in particular was with architect and designer Pietro Cicognani and his client {and friend} Isabella Rossellini. During their talk they spoke about Isabella’s antique barn and farmhouse in Bellport Long Island that was originally built in 1850, and converted to what is today her country retreat. This discussion was a reminder to me that living in a house built in the 1800’s presents opportunities to strike a balance between the old and the new, always respecting the past, and allowing the present equal place in creating a lifestyle which nurtures the family living in it during the 21st century. Another way to “Love How You Live!”
We were also able to enjoy the sights that Nantucket during the height of summer has to offer.
It is my hope that you enjoy these precious last few weeks of summer.
We are now booking complimentary 1-hour interior design service consultations for September, so please let us know how we can help you “Love How You Live!”
